  • As the 1st African American chair of the finance committee raised over $500k for the Tennessee Democratic Party
  • Led statewide Minority voter registration efforts that resulted in more than 40k newly registered voters
  • Delegate for President Barack Obama 2008 and 2012
  • Raised nearly $100k for Hillary for President

Metro Council

  • Secured $350k for Tennessee State University John Merritt Classic
  • Secured more than $10M for Nashville General Hospital medical electronic system and imaging equipment
  • Co-sponsored Metro Employee Healthcare Incentive Plan which provides no out-of-pocket costs to Metro Employees  at the Nashville General Hospital
  • Raised and secured more than $10M for the National Museum of African American Music
  • Negotiated and secured a MOU between the Metro Minority Caucus and Bell Construction for MBE/ inclusion resulting in over $80M in contracts 
  • Led on securing $1M from the state of TN for the Gateway to Heritage beautification project on Jefferson Street

Community

  • Helped nearly 200 families transition from shelters to homes 
  • Held job fairs for previously incarcerated individuals
  • Created Christmas in July to provide clothing, appliances, bikes, supplies to community members
  • Opened food pantry and provide hot meals
